The project Sinai is based on research into various publications featuring logos and wordmarks. From this collection, a type specimen was selected that exists solely as a logo, having been designed for a single use rather than as a complete typeface.
This selected wordmark served as the starting point for further development. By analysing its formal characteristics and underlying rules, the existing letterforms were extended, adapted and systematised. Based on this process, a complete alphabet was created, translating the original logic of the wordmark into a functional type system.Through this process, my own typeface was developed, resulting in a complete alphabet that translates the original logic of the wordmark into a functional and consistent font.
