Gstaad –  Momente zwischen Welten

Bieler Fototage, photography

Horizons divide the world in two – they separate and connect at the same time. Such a horizon also runs through Gstaad: between those who live here and those who only return for a short time.

In my photographic project for the Bieler Fototage, I show Gstaad from my perspective – the view of a local who grew up with the wealthy guests. The ‘horizon’ symbolises my point of view: a vantage point between two worlds. Although I am part of the place myself, I focus my camera exclusively on those who only live here temporarily – on the guests who return during the holidays and fill the place with luxury and presence. In my photography, I capture fleeting moments – moments in which the place and its visitors determine time for a brief moment. It is my personal view of a world that has always surrounded me but never completely enclosed me.
